Assoc. Prof. Dr. Wee Bee Suan

Associate Professor Dr. Wee Bee Suan is the Deputy Dean (Research & Development) at the Faculty of Health Sciences, Universiti Sultan Zainal Abidin (UniSZA). Prior to this, she served as the Head of the School of Nutrition & Dietetics for three years. She is also a co-leader of the Public Health Research Group and a registered nutritionist with the Malaysian Allied Health Professions Council. She is a life member of the Nutrition Society of Malaysia (NSM) and the Malaysian Association for the Study of Obesity (MASO). Additionally, she is a certified Level One Anthropometrist by the International Society for the Advancement of Kinanthropometry (ISAK). Dr. Wee has more than a decade of corporate work experience before joining academia in 2010. Her areas of specialisation include community nutrition, child and adolescent nutrition, metabolic and insulin resistance, nutrition education and health promotion, body composition, and physical activity. She has led and contributed to numerous research projects funded through competitive university, industry, and national research grants. Dr. Wee has published numerous journal articles, seven books or book chapters, and copyrights. She has also contributed to national nutrition and physical activity guidelines. She currently serves as Associate Editor of the Malaysian Journal of Nutrition and Guest Editor of the Malaysian Journal of Medicine and Health Sciences.
