Dr. Yong Heng Yaw, PhD

Dr Heng Yaw Yong is a lecturer in the Division of Nutrition and Dietetics, School of Health Sciences, International Medical University (IMU). She is also a fellow of The Centre for Transformative Nutrition and Health (CTNH), one of the SEA region's leaders in food and clinical nutrition.

She is currently a life member of the Nutrition Society of Malaysia (NSM) as well as a member of the Malaysian Association of the Study of Obesity (MASO) and the American Society for Nutrition.

Her research interests are primarily in the areas of maternal and child health with emphasis on maternal nutrition and nutritional status, including body composition, particularly the elucidation of the fetal origins hypothesis and the impact on the developmental health and well-being outcomes for an individual from infancy to adulthood. She has been actively involved in various local and international research projects. She has authored and co-authored several national and international publications and is also the reviewer for a few national and international reputable journals. She has also won several awards for publishing output.
