Dr. Woon Fui Chee, PhD

Lee Dr Woon Fui Chee is a Senior Lecturer at the Department of Public Health Medicine, Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences, Universiti Malaysia Sabah. She also serves as the Head of the PhD Public Health Programme and the Coordinator for the Medical Research Ethics Committee at her university. Her research interests include, but are not limited to, maternal and child nutrition, micronutrient deficiencies, mercury exposure, allergic diseases, and diet quality, with a particular focus on exploring early nutrition programming for long-term health outcomes.

Dr Woon is a registered nutritionist under the Malaysian Allied Health Professions Council and a life member of the Nutrition Society of Malaysia (NSM) and the Malaysian Association for the Study of Obesity (MASO). Additionally, she is a certified Level One Anthropometrist under the International Society for the Advancement of Kinanthropometry. Passionate about nutrition research, she has been involved in numerous research projects and has authored and co-authored various publications.

As a community nutritionist, she is actively involved in health promotion programs, particularly in rural villages across Sabah, and frequently volunteers as an invited speaker to promote healthy eating among local communities.
